Antivirus That Blocks Ips Known To Have Malware?

By admin Posted in: AntiVirus

Something like Symantec Antivirus and Avast. Are there any other antivirus (free) such as Comodo or AVG antivirus that have similar features?
When I mean block IP address, I mean websites that are known to have malware (mainly those crack/keygen websites) will be blocked so the user won’t need to risk himself from getting infected.

Eset Smart Security does that. IT stops you from accessing a website that contains malware. So now if you want something for free that do that. I won’t know.
Try to pay mate it is WORTH it, most of the time…

    FYI:
Although you’re correct in adding this ‘layer’ of security for ‘Net bound requests & returns, there is still the problem that these (and other anti-malware utilities) have: they rely on a known set of values (in this case URL’s/IP’s) for filtering.
Because the ‘Net is so fluid, and tainted assets can be migrated almost at will, you should not rely on said utilities as a backbone for defense…otherwise, it would have been done a long time ago.
Why not just remove the bulls-eye from yourself by using Linux for all ‘Net tasks, and be done with the constant babysitting?
Of course even Linux will be subject to the TCP/IP exploits and the only way to avoid those pitfalls is daily user education and awareness of current exploits…which can be said of all operating systems, but it’s just the way things are these days.

you don’t need necessarily an antivirus you can setup your DNS settings and schange them to another provider.
For ex. I use this one:http://www.opendns.com/business-solution…
You can change those settings into the control panel, section networking. Click on Properties at your internet network and change them there. (I won’t get into details now, it’s too much to write), but you can get info from google.
After you change your dns settings with the ones from OpenDNS, youw webpages will load faster and you will also be protected from phsishing and malware sites.
If you succeed in configuring the DNS IPs, you can test the config here:http://opendns.com/welcome/
    Good luck !
