Can 12 Month Olds Have Ravioli?

By admin Posted in: software

I had some ‘mini’ ravioli (chef boy r dee) and have no idea what to make for lunch tomorro (am going to the store tomorrow evening) but was wondering if there is any reason I can’t give it to them for lunch? They eat pretty much what we eat now, with the exception being that whatever they eat has to be kinda soft, one of them still only has 2 teeth! lol

Logistically they can eat it, but it’s loaded with sodium and preservatives. I would try to find something else, personally.
Breakfast for lunch is always good – a cheese and veggie omelet, waffles and fruit, or even grilled cheese.

To be honest, I don’t see any problem with it at all. In fact, when I make baked ravioli for my husband and I, our 18 month old eats it as well. True, it isn’t the best thing in the world for them to eat, but I’ll be brutally honest, there isn’t much that they don’t already put in their mouths at this age. By comparison, I’d rather my kid eat ravioli than some other things that are out there.
Logistically speaking, the ravioli is the right texture, it does have some protein in it, and I think there have been comments regarding vegetable servings in the canned chef boy r dee foods. ( I don’t watch much TV these days, as you can understand, I am sure, so this part I’m not really 100% about.)

Yes just cut them really small and supervise.
There is nothing wrong with feeding your kids ravioli it might be a bit spicy compared to what they are used to at first so only a little bit and maybe a slice of apple or something to take away the little “kick” that we don’t notice as adults but they surely do.

Physically they should be able to. Small bites but they are so soft I wouldn’t see a problem.
Now, should you is another issue. That kind of canned pasta is not really good for anyone. Stuffed full of preservatives, sugar and salt they aren’t very good for you.

they will be fine, ravioli is soft so having only 2 teeth wont be a problem, most babies/toddlers will gum food anyway :)
    mum to 3.5yrold, 2.5yrold & 9month old :)

My twins each have only two teeth and they’re 11 months old.. they love Chef boyrdee raviolis…
They have the two bottom teeth only, but the raviolis are so soft they can just mash them up with their gums.
