Can Anyone Tell Me How To Find And Completely Delete The Files The Seem To Be Invisibly Taking Up Space?

By admin Posted in: Spyware Blockers Software

I have practically removed all documents, pictures, music, games etc from my laptop and have also uninstalled the unnecessary software’s and by now my laptop should have 80% free space but it still only has 67GB free out of 139GB. There are no viruses or spyware’s in my laptop i have checked in every possible way even safe mode.
Can anyone tell me how to find and completely delete the files the seem to be invisibly taking up space for some reason.
Please i don’t want to download and install anything as i am clearing out my Laptop coz i want more free space so i can install Linux

    For some immediate ‘c’ disk space gain, delete all but the most recent Java version & update from ‘Add or Remove Programs’ (see ‘Control Panel’> Add or Remove…);
    Also, delete old ‘Restore Points’ (if your system is behaving itself) like this:
    Make a new Restore Pt.; then go to System Tools> Disk cleanup> (after it’s done examining the disk)> More Options> System Restore button @ bottom> Clean up> Yes.
    One disk performance item is to ‘compress contents’ and ‘allow index service’. These help optimize file recovery speed & save disk space.
    Start> my computer> right click ‘c’ drive> properties> general tab: here check both boxes & ‘OK’.
    Don’t freak out: it may say hours (or days) to run, but this drops dramatically as the process advances. Just walk away and let ‘er run for the duration: it will self close when done.
    Depending on the files & sizes, it may take several hours to do (maybe do it at night @ bedtime?).
    Download “CCleaner” http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
    Freeware.
    Run the various tab headings.

    You can make sure it’s not malware by running rkill, it’s a small executable, no need to install.
    If rkill shuts down anything other than itself, you are infected.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download…
