Can I Sew Fabric On Something Crocheted?

By admin Posted in: software

for example if i crocheted a blanket, can i sew fabric to the other side to make it softer/warmer? and if so, can it be done with a sewing machine or by hand?
thanks

Measure, then hem the edges of the fabric. You can sew with a sewing machine or by hand, but by hand would offer the best looking finish.
For the fabric, use a contrasting color if you want the pattern of the crochet to be prominent or the same color to keep the pattern subtle.

You can do it easily. How you do it depends on what kind of crochet pattern the item is worked in. If there are natural straight lines in the design so you can make a kind of checker board with lines of stitching that would work on a sewing machine if you have some experience sewing. If it is a design like flowers you can use a technique like tying a quilt where you stitch through the backing and the design in one place and tie that stitch off then make a new tie in the next design. Luck.
