you havent mentioned why you think you have a virus but the best way to rid a virus is to perform a system restore but since this problem is weeks old you dont have restore point old enough so run a full scan with windows defender and malwarebytes if norton isnt updating i suggest you remove it with the norton removal tool and reinstall it it sounds like its damaged
Use malwarebytes. It’s never failed me. Good luck.
