Cannot Use Anti-virus Software And Google Redirects?

By admin Posted in: Uncategorized

I have recently been noticing some abnormalities with my laptop computer. Firstly, I cannot open any anti-virus or anti-malware software (I already have Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware installed and I have tried to install AVG but it constantly fails the internet connection test) and when I have performed searches on Google, the links often redirect me to another random/spam site. I also sometimes receive “server not found” messages when trying to visit websites (far too frequently for it to be a coincidence), but with a few refreshes they eventually load up.
I have searched around and this appears to be a fairly common virus problem, but I have not yet found a way to solve it. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Go to safe mode. And start cleaning your laptop of virus and malware. Wash & rinse about 3 times.
    Restart normally and clean again.
Restart and access internet to download Anti-virus and malware updates.
    Create 2 account. 1 account – admin(administrator account). 1 account user(with user access only).
Only use user account to do daily work and access internet. Admin account use for installing and updating software.
You can go to the below website to access free anti-virus and anti-malware.

    Your computer is highly infected.
This generic method of cureing the problem
seems to work for most people..
    First
click on Start > Run. Type in the following into the open box.
    devmgmt.msc
then Click on OK. This will run Device Manager. In Device Manager,
click on View > Show Hidden Devices.
expand all the devices by clicking on the “Plus” sign. Now try to find
    TDSSserv.sys or clbdriver.sys or oUltraf or seneka.sys,
right click on whatever one you found and select Disable.
Please make sure that you do not select the Un-Install option
otherwise infection will be back once you reboot your computer.
if none of them are there do not worry,
it could be something simpler but follow what comes next.
you will have to enable view hidden folders in folder options > view.
Delete everything in the windows temp folder,
    C > Windows > Temp
    Delete all cookies,
Delete all temporary internet files(not to be confused with windows temp files)
these are best deleted via your internet browsers.
it will save you messing about in the the hidden system files
    reset internet explorer,
tools > internet options > Advanced tab > reset .
Delete everything in the prefetch folder.
    C > Windows > Prefetch
    Delete the hosts file,
    C > Windows > System32 > drivers > etc > HOSTS
A clean hosts file will be written by windows when you reboot later.
Note: if you were using a custom Hosts file
you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.
Delete the flash cookies found in the macromedia, #Shared Objects folder.
    c > users > “your name” > App Data > Roaming > macromedia > Flash player > #Shared Objects
delete everything you find in the #Shared Objects folder
Run a full scan with this
    Sophos Anti-Rootkit : http://www.sophos.com/products/free-tool…
and remove everything suspicious it finds.
    Sophos Anti-Rootkit DOWNLOAD : https://secure.sophos.com/support/cleane…
Then run a full scan with this and remove what it finds.
Super anti spyware Pro : http://www.superantispyware.com/
Super anti spyware Pro DOWNLOAD : http://downloads.superantispyware.com/do…
this has a tool built in that can reset the URL prefix’s
    USE IT.
    reset your router to default.
your redirect virus should now be gone.
    download then run,
Hitman pro : http://www.surfright.nl/en to double check.

You are infected with the “Search Redirect Virus”. What makes this virus really annoying is not the redirects, but the fact that your anti virus cannot detect it properly. You may also be infected with another virus if your original anti virus software cannot be opened.
The reason why the redirect virus cannot be detected is due to how it infects your PC. Instead of installing software or running a process designed to harm your system, the virus actually infects a system file, allowing it to still cause those irritating redirects but at the same time evade detection by your anti virus.
The system file that it infects is the one associated with handling redirect requests, such as those made by search engines once you click a link. This is a typical process, but is altered once your system is infected with this virus. The virus has the ability to redirect you to random websites, which are usually advertisements designed to make the hacker some money.
The best way to remove this virus would be to use a piece of software called ComboFix. I find that this program is excellent at dealing with the source of the virus and clearing your system of it. You can find it here, along with an excellent tutorial:http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/spy…
