Her computer has slowed down a lot since she got it and i can’t find any recovery disc to do a fresh reinstall. I’ve defragged, spyware/malware/virus scanned
Vista is set on her native language, which i do not speak, so it’s hard for me to do any tech support for her. Real hard. I don’t think i can change the language without the vista pro version.
I was just thinking of buying her a windows 7 upgrade for like 120 I think? Would it be a good speed upgrade? Or in general? The OS being reset to english would be a real plus as well.

How do I protect myself and get it so that he can no longer see everything I can do? I ran super anti spyware and nothing came up. When I use revo uninstaller, the isologger program doesn’t show up. I relize firesheep probably isn’t that big of a problem since he no longer can use the internet on his laptop because the internet comes from my hotspot, which I now changed the password to.
So how do I prevent him from being able to use isologger and ultravnc against me?
WITHOUT KILLING MY HARD DRIVE.
i don’t have a restore/reboot disc.

A year old
Its usually been alright but lately its been slow, up until the point its so slow that it shuts down itself.
Ive checked for viruses using Microsoft Security Essentials, and ive fully scanned it a couple of times and its detected nothing. (By the way is Microsoft Security Essentials a good spyware ?)
What should I do ?

In fact, part of the malicious payload of CIH/Chernobyl (A very notable and widespread computer virus) is that it flashes your computers BIOS. In short, it ruins the computer (unless you have a way to fix the BIOS, and you’d have to be fairly tech-smart to do so).
