   Use Openoffice.org Opensource software. It is same as Microsoft Office. As I said, It is an open source software, it is completely FREE. So, download it free, install it free. Then open your word document using this. In this tool, there is a PDF Converter button in it. So just click it, and it will convert your doc into pdf. Not only word doc, it converts excel, ppts also..

   After you install it, the pdfcreator will act as a printer. If you look into you printer devices, you should find it there. Print the word document using pdfcreator and it will save your word document as pdf. I use it everyday.

   Save as button, then you have a window.
   You should see two text boxes.
   1st: name of the item
   2nd: type of file
   The second should be a drop down list and you select .pdf instead of .doc or .docx or whatnot.
