I get emails from supposedly Yahoo email account holders, offering all sorts of drugs, penis enlargement devices, information about undelivered packages and notices regarding unpaid traffic violation tickets in New York City.
If these emails are from genuine Yahoo members, who gives them my email address? Could it be Yahoo?
If they are not genuine account holders, the must be fraudsters who have unlawfully exorcists account database.
I have reported thes emails for abuse dozens of times but they still keep coming.
Is Yahoo powerless to setup them?

80% of all email is spam. They often use new addresses every day to send it out.
Spammers have all kinds of computer generated address lists..and they get them from all kinds of sources
But one is just computer generating addresses like
footballfan1 footballfan2 etc etc and see what flies, and what doesnt. The ones that do, are harvested for a “good” list.
Its often set with tracking so..
Opening up spam verifies to them that the address is not only good…but they have a person that opens spam and reads it. Then sell your address..you keep getting more and more. The more basic your email ID is..the more you’ll get. I have one that never gets any at all. Its a line from a little known song. An address like LordOfTheRings22..will get bombarded.
Never open, unsubscribe, or reply to spam.
No reason to even be in the spam folder but once a week, to make sure nothing good went there in error.
Confining it to the spam folder..is where is should be
If this is going to your inbox.. go to Options> Mail Options>Spam and set your controls better
I’m in the UK & I get a lot of these things, some of which still sneak their way into the inbox. I keep marking them as spam, but just get more from slightly different addresses still. I’ve added a few to the blocked sender list – but still get more of the same from slightly different addresses.
There is not very much one can do to stop it all really apart from that. But they do not come from yahoo itself though. Just typical spammers.
Yahoo attempts to stop or cut down on the
amount of Spam you get into your mailbox
You can help also by clicking on the Spam
icon when you receive some.
Have a good day
