Reinstall windows license after OS migration???
Regarding “restore system to dissimilar hardware without re-installation” in their documentation.
Good day
If I make a clone of my old computer’s OS and all installed programs and install it into a new computer with “EaseUS Todo Backup” will there be a problem with the license of the windows 7 pro OS. Will I have to enter the license code of the old computer from which the clone comes from, enter the license of the new computer or does it matter at all.
Thank you in advance

Moving a cloned OS from one computer to another can be slightly tricky especially if you are moving from an OEM to a RETAIL and so forth. One of a couple things will happen…
1. Everything will work fine! Weeee!
2. You will need to re-activate.
3. If the product key you used does not activate your OS you will need to contact Microsoft and tell them your situation. They will most likely present you with a new product key or unlock your old one.
If your migrating a clone from one completely different computer to another most likely 2 or 3 will happen. If the computers are identical most likely 1 will happen.
Forgot to mention. If the OS migrated is extremely different then the new computer then you will most likely get errors while booting up as well as BSOD(blue screen of death). This is because of drivers. You may need to tweak it to make it work and possibly uninstall/reinstall programs. In the worst possible scenario you will get a BSOD before you even reach the login screen and that is a pain to fix.
Good luck!
