I understand that this varies. That some website creation projects are huge, and probably require a large team, and that some hobbyist websites require only a single developer. However, I am wondering if, for a commercial website, there is any minimum number of team members under which I would be crazy to expect successful website creation. To be more precise, for those of you who are very knowledgeable, this is to be a database driven website(with account logins), is to look professional and run well, is to contain a number of playable files(audio and video), is to calculate certain percentages(of votes given by people from specific areas), is to have a database of featured content, and will need to be regularly updated. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You could do this with 1 developer however it would be more efficient to have 2 or 3 developers, they could then work on different aspects like graphics and design whilst others work on scripting and back end. Website development is allot easier with a small team as programming with a large team can cause incompatibility errors.
Absolute minimum 1. Aside from the audio and video players (I assume you don’t mean just links to files), I do all of that myself in many cases. If it really has to be a work of art, I work with an artist who designs websites. (She knows the limitations of software, otherwise she’s a graphic artist.)
