Personally, I don’t endorse free. There all pretty much alike when it comes to what they do. Pick one, Download it. You will get similar results from all. Free is just basic. You get what you pay for in most cases.
MSE, it’s more than just an anti-virus. Avira is limited. I’ve used Avira and definitely prefer MSE.

and now a days more important is your OS .
if you are using windows and have threats then do not use XP prefer windows 7 .
