   DROP McAfee. It’s useless to be honest. The virus writers learned how to under mind it and Norton because we used them exclusively for almost 20 years. So, the birth of new, more advanced protection is upon us. Here are some good ones.
   Antivirus = AVG ( http://avg.com ) is a great protection package. It is click and forget making it the most worry free AV out. You COULD go for a more aggressive alternative and use Avast ( http://avast.com ) which requires more interaction from you but it’s a far better product if not for anything else but it’s boot time scan abilities.
   Supplamental software = Malwarebytes is areguably the best supplamental software out. It’s aggressive, can be made to run independantly, and is of course FREE. ( http://downloads.comstar-computers.com/A… )
   Spybot as you mentioned is a great spyware deterant and remover. Plus it has TeaTimer which is a registry protector and also helps prevent intrusions. It also has immunizations that will help prevent spyware from operating ony our system ( http://www.spybot.com ) .
   SuperAntiSpyware is a great program. It is compareable to Malwarebytes. It has a service that runs in the background that helps protect on the fly.
   AdAware used to be a really good program but it has become less aggressive and like Norton, getting too bloated. It used to play nicely with Spybot but now has issues. It also fails to run on systems older than Windows ME with the overlay. And even then you have trouble so I’m saying no to this one.
   HiJackThis is a nice method of dealling with Browser Hijacks. This is another place callups hide so it’s good to have this porgram. The problem is, you have to know computers well in order to read the report and be able to tell what is bad. ( http://downloads.comstar-computers.com/A… )
   CCleaner is a great tool that will help you in any event. Tho it is not an actual anti virus type program, it can help in the removal and identification of Viruses. ( Http://ccleaner.com ).
