What Skin Tone Does It Sound Like I Have?

By admin Posted in: Uncategorized

I have fair skin and I get told that when I go to makeup counters. I get confused because my moms skin is lighter than mine, but I’m still told I have very fair skin. I tan very easily and I don’t always know what makeup to use to blend well on my face. I usually wear ivory foundation, and it looks good, but my body just Selma to be more sunkissed than my face. How can I match my foundation to my face but it still go well with the rest of my body. My skin is fair but not pale. Thanks. And is soft ivory, foundation pale?

Always, always, always match your foundation & concealer to your face, and THEN bring warmth in with a matt or slightly shimmery (not too much) bronzer, taking it down the neck and buffing out on to the chest.
“Soft Ivory” foundation does sound pale – so you are fair-skinned. It is possible that your mother is even fairer, she would need to go for the next lightest shade. Or it could be that your mother has ‘cool’ skin tones, meaning she has pinkish undertones, and you have ‘warm’ skin, meaning you have yellow undertones.
Have you tried experimenting with a tinted moisturiser? That way you can go slightly warmer than your natural colour without looking orange.

Hm, well a lot of skintones can fall under the ‘fair’ and ‘light’ category. For example, when I was younger, I had very pale skin. Now that I’m a bit older, I’m darker, but I’m still considered ‘light’. You might be on the darker end of the ‘light’ category, especially since you mentioned that you tan easily? Most super light complextions will usually burn, but find it hard to tan. So I’m gussing that you’re light-skinned but with warm/yellow undertones (which usually makes you darker than cool/pink undertoned people)
And yes, from my experience, the shade ‘soft ivory’ is pretty light. If you find that your face is lighter than your body, then just get a shade darker in foundation. :)
